SUPERIOR - Mother Nature is acting like a Grinch, causing a fuel shortage to heat homes.Fuel experts tell FOX 21 there is a shortage in propane.
Stemming from farmers using it to dry out their crops suffering from all of last spring’s snowfall, a main propane supplier out of Canada partially shutting down and an abnormally cold winter.
The shortage has caused propane prices to go up and forced some companies to limit the amount of fuel they ship to their customers.
"It's hard everybody is struggling with this, the rising prices securing supplies,” Superior Fuel Company part owner and Vice President Ryan Gunderson said. “Just be patient, understand that you know we are working through ,we will get through it.” “We are working on getting some new supply points lined up."
Officials say they are not sure how long the shortage will last.
It could even happen again next winter.
