CHUM Food Shelf running short in March Campaign
DULUTH - Duluth’s CHUM Food Shelf reports food donations are down 71 percent in its Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign - and they're looking for help from the public.
The March Campaign provides a proportional match for all monetary and food donations received this month, making donations even more important.
With 19 days left in the month, food shelf officials are hopeful that they will get more donations.
“We're hopeful that maybe it hasn't come in so we just want to tweak people's memories and say if you haven't donated and you've got some food, bring it in,” CHUM official Meg Kearns said.
Last year, the CHUM Food Shelf generated 40 percent of its yearly operating income from the March Campaign.
Donations will be accepted until the end of the month. For more information, visit www.CHUMDuluth.org
