DULUTH - SMDC is changing the location its H1N1 vaccination booths due to lower-than-anticipated turnout.

The distribution began Monday at the DECC and continued there Tuesday.  Beginning Wednesday, the distribution will be moved to SMDC Medical Center's First Street building at 420 East First Street.

Vaccinations and FluMist will be offered at the new location beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.  The clinics will be held through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or until the vaccine runs out.

Vaccinations remain limited to high-risk categories identified by the Minnesota Department of Health.  The eligible groups are:

  • Pregnant women
  • Children ages 6 months to 4 years
  • Children ages 5 to 18 years with chronic medical conditions
  • People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months

Adults should bring an ID showing their current address, along with an insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid card.  Those without insurance will be billed.
