TWO HARBORS - The Minnesota State Patrol reports at least one person was killed in a one-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on the Highway 61 Expressway near Knife River.

According to the State Patrol, a 2001 Ford Explorer traveling northbound on Highway 61 lost control on in icy conditions, went into the right-hand ditch and rolled; it came to rest on its top.

The accident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. at milepost 18 near Knife River.

The State Patrol has classified the accident as a fatal crash, but has not yet released information on the individuals in the vehicle. That information is slated to be released Tuesday afternoon.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office assisted at the crash scene.
