MINNEAPOLIS (AP) With the earthquake in Haiti putting a spotlight on international adoptions, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is sponsoring three bills designed to make the process easier.

Klobuchar announced the legislation Sunday.

One bill would allow children to enter the U.S. before receiving their full immunizations. Klobuchar says that's safe as long as they get their vaccines within 30 days of arriving. The bill also would allow families to adopt groups of siblings, even if one is over 16.

Another bill would create an office within the U.S. State Department to streamline the adoption process. The third would eliminate certain fees.

One of the bills has already been introduced. The others will be in the coming weeks.
