Gamel glum about injury

PHOENIX (AP) Mat Gamel was supposed to be the next hot prospect out of the Brewers' farm system, following in the steps of Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun and Yovani Gallardo. Now, he's wondering if he'll ever make a big-league splash.

Gamel is spending his second straight spring training nursing a right shoulder injury.

Gamel knows that his chance to break camp with the Brewers is likely over and he'll be returning to Triple-A Nashville to start the year. He says he is frustrated because he feels he belongs in the big leagues.

Brewers manager Ken Macha says Gamel is getting closer to returning to action but he's ``way behind'' at this point in spring training.
